The only thing that make klingons unique, they now give to the blue side.
Im so dissapointed at this game, its hard to write in words.
There isnt anyting unique with the klingon side any longer. and i refuse to play on the blue side.
C-store is laughable, Feds get ships, cloak ! What do klingons get ? a targ and in future som new hair wigs.
Given that people are buying the Galaxy-X all over the place, and that matches are slowly becoming cloak vs. cloak (had a match earlier with 4 Galaxy-X's in it), Arena PvP is going to get suffocated to death due to boredom.
As for Romulan vs. Klingon PvP, it would have been tried from time to time but then it would have gone the same road as KvK (i.e. it doesn't get played) and everything would have gone to FvK and FvR.
Given that Destra just posted that there are going to be additional Cloaking mechanics in the future, Arena PvP is going to become a dead zone, and since nobody plays Assault either that just leaves Salvage Op, Ground, and War zones.........yep things are looking up aren't they?

I think the Gal x will get used less once people realize it is not very good. People will be ****ed they just spent $25 bucks on a ship they wont play in a week. KvK has died because feds are easier to kill than klinks.
The cloak fest is people are pansies and have no guts to fight. Easy way to get the cloak fest to stop is for one person to sacrafice and uncloak with his team ready to pounce once the other teams fires. Even FvF the to teams usually fed ball and just wait for the other team to move in. But if no one attacks first it is a defensive stare contest. Which is all lame.
As for assult maps, if crytic put them at the top of the list more would play I think. People are lazy and wont scroll down. I find them the most fun map and it is sad they do not get played more.
Story-wise the counter to cloak was better sensors and a wide firing arc of fed ships. But since cryptic has taken those mechanics out of this game and made all ships equally limited and featureless. The poor numbers and PvP will get worse.
OP Why complain. Its not like you only play Klingon. I mean you have a ferengi and a cat. Put your BG away for a rainy day, and play the real game. Everything a Klingon can do, a fed can do plus more. Its not like they will be getting any true story for a long time, and when they do its not going to be as much as the feds. So jump ship youll be happier.
I thought the Klingon population is happy about this.
As a fed escort player mainly, my heart sinks if I'm in a group full of gal x's. We're gonna lose 90% of the time.
This. Galaxy X's have thus far proven to be rather weak. They can't turn, their bonus of a big super forward weapon is thusly usually a waste, and if they are cloaked, the rest of their team is vulnerable, making them waste time decloaking if they want to heal, and they probably will not be in position to use the decloaking alpha damage bonus for decloaking klingons either.
And as for the cloak v. cloak nonsense, some of you apparently never bothered to do KvK (or even FvK when MES was all the rage) when it was actually done. Yes people actually played it. And it took actual teamwork and some strategy. Someone had to play the bait, and someone had to take it. And people did it because it had to be done.
And hell, you don't have to cloak at all, you know. I rarely recloak in FvK because there isn't usually an opportunity to, and on the salvage map I rarely cloak even once.
I personally think that the cloaking mechanics might need a revisement. Add something to the "detection states" that makes finding your enemy easier. Not turn cloak useless, but also don't make the only way to find a cloak ship to stumble upon it while its full impulsing or sensor scan it when it's accidentally within 10km.
Of course, it's not as if people now really "practice" the art of cloak detection. KvK is not as busy as FvF or FvK, unfortunately.

Nope klingons are unique without cloak too. but youre unique many ways:
klingon ships, battlecloak, universal stations, can cry a river, and ofc good pvpers

Increase range of sensor scan to 50km. Problem solved.
Actually, I think it would be cool if Sensor Scan or Charged Particle Burst scaled in range according to the amount of power in Aux. Say 5km for each 10 points in Aux?
Meh' that ship is so weaksauce. Get out of the front facing and you can blast away forever. Was in a cap/hold yesterday with lots of them and didn't even have to cloak my bop once. Can understand the frustration tho, feds shouldn't have cloak....
This game is going to continue to go downhill till Cryptic stops caving in everytime somebody QQ's they can't have something. They can't make 1 single decision and just be firm and stick with it.
First they wanted no death penalty, then they wanted a death penalty, then people cried a tiny debuff was the end of the world, and they caved and made it optional.
Same with Klingons, first they wanted them to be a PvP only faction, then they caved and added PvE instead of giving the PvP faction more PvP options like open PvP which is what most wanted before the mass exodus.
Now it's the Fed Cloaking. First they made the decision Feds have better shps with no cloaks, now they cave to the point of breaking canon (not that they ever cared about that anyway) and give Feds cloaks and according to Kestrel more cloaking Fed ships are on the way.
The only way they're ever going to fix this shoddy game will be to make firm design decisions and stick to them and stop listening to the crybaby's that want to have everything handed to them on a giant plate purchased in the C-Store. The way they're acting lately just seems to be out of total desperation and I don't know why. The server can't be any less populated then it already is, so make some design decisions that will give this game a purpose, stand by them, and you might actually see people return longer than 2 weeks to check out a season update that has a bunch of features that many were expecting to have at launch.
I guess we could demand the Feds not get a heavily populated universal server, or not get a decent game, but it would be moot since we already have both.
to the point of breaking canon (not that they ever cared about that anyway)
just want to point out that Feds having cloak is cannon...the defiant and galaxy X both cloaked in episodes..as well as half a dozen other ships that were used as plot.
As for the X in game, i don't care..its a ok ship but no were near overpowered, and pvp matches (despite what OP said) are still going strong. They do need to do something about stealth detection..but increasing it to 50ks as suggested above is a joke..that's the vast majority of the map. Also find it funny that feds get bad rep for staying in one place as a giant ball..when from my experience (of both sides) its the klingons that stay together more in order to get a strong alpha strike

You do realize the Galaxy X was an alternate timeline, right? And the Defiant's cloak was Romulan?
Well?So they have cloak. The Klingons shouldnt have went to war with the Federation. We are in a different timeline now.All bets are off and the federation can develop cloaking technology for themselves. Its not going to help if they dont cooperate in groups.
First and foremost, if you depend heavily on a cloak to crutch your combat effectiveness then you are not up to par on the dynamics of good combat skills.
Cloak is nothing more than a defensive measure. Anyone can cloak, but a real Klingon can squash his enemies under the tactics that follow his primal need to sqaush hulls into oblivion or die trying.
Oh wait.......what was that? Or die trying? Yea dying happens...and sometimes you win. Isn't it more on how you play the game?
I stopped reading right there, could you get to the p...
Mustrum "Contemplates cutting himself now" Ridcully Not really, obviously.
The point being is that anything added to the game, taken away or otherwise of importance to somebody somewhere, is suddenly gamebreaking and the doom of the game.
It has gotten old.

I love how people love to exagerate to make their point sound better. And, the Galaxy Dreadnaught is a T5 ship with a cloak, not a T1, so what's your worry? Hair wigs, and also Orion outfits that don't make the Orion girls look like butch dominatrixes (Though that isn't always a bad thing!). The Klingons alsoget a Borg BO, and the playable species, Joined Trills, too. AND, let's not forget that we are getting to fight an NPC enemy exclusive to the Klingon Faction, as well.
But, hidden in the message is the heart and soul of your post, which is that the Developement Team needs to shift out of second gear and pick up some speed on fleshing the Klingon Empire out. I am totally with you, there! They need to ease off the accelerator Fed Side, so the Klingons get the respect they are due. I suspect that by Season 3 we will see a much more robust Klingon Faction, and then we can poke fun at the underdeveloped Romulans, when they are released as a Player Faction.
Going by the latest STOKed podcast with the dstahl interview, it seems the Romulans are on hold for now to allow the Klingons to catch up to the Federation. That sounds like a good choice. There isn't really much point to a Romulan faction if it ends up as a PvP only group, too.
Comments
Having Dual Cannons on all your ships, Universal slots on the BoP's, and the games only Carrier isn't unique at all, right?
The carrier doesn't have a cloak and that is totally Fed, so what do Feds have to live for anymore?? QQ!!!
P.S. I do hate that the Galaxy X is even in this game. God kills a kitten everytime someone buys it.

Some of the Klingons demanded the Feds get NO cloak.. and now they have it.
Some of the Klingons demanded the Feds get NO FvF.. and they got it.
What will the Klingons demand that the Feds NOT get next? Becuase that is probably what they will get.

Yeah, but people jump timelines all the time. <
Get it?
I'm really starting to think the majority of the playerbase are manic-depressives with ADD.
Mustrum "Contemplates cutting himself now" Ridcully
Not really, obviously.
An alternate timeline where the KDF and Federation were at war. That is clearly completely different from this one, yep.
